Stage 2 Baby Food: Papaya Puree Recipe

Papaya Puree

Lazy Afternoon Papaya Puree!

Nothing beats feeding home made baby food to your little one. But let’s be honest here, some days we are too tired to cook. We promise, you will never ever find a recipe easier to prepare, yet healthy, as this one! Papaya Puree is simple and colourful, yet delicate and delicious.

Yes, we call Papaya Puree the lazy afternoon snack because it is so simple to prepare.  The tropical fruit Papaya contains Carbohydrates, Fibre, B Group Vitamins, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Potassium and other minerals.

Making Papaya Puree is one of the most easy recipes we have learnt. You can give it to your baby after a big lunch as a fruity dessert since it is so easy to digest. Papaya is also good for preventing constipation as it is rich in dietary fibre.

First, peel 1 serving of papaya, remove the seeds and slice it. You can use a baby food processor for pureeing. Papaya puree is part of Stage 2 baby food and often offered to a baby starting from 7 months old. You can also slice it into 3mm cubes if your baby has already started trying Stage 3 baby food (usually 9 months to 12 months) and ready to chew. If needed, you may also want to steam the papaya mildly before giving it to your baby. Papaya also makes a great finger food for older ones, so why not let your mommy’s Little Pumpkin have some afternoon fun?

Optional

You can also tailor the Papaya Puree to your baby’s tastes by adding any of the following fruits;

  • Apples
  • Bananas
  • Mango
  • Peaches
  • Blueberries
